VCD Recycling is happy to announce it received a grant from the Dutch program “Kansen voor West”. The innovative project is called “VCD Circulair Zink” which is focussing on making waste flows from hot dip galvanizing companies circular. In Europe more than 500 hot dip galvanizing companies are producing valuable waste flows which can be converted in to new resources and base chemicals.
The project is focussing on the following 3 main flows:
- Stripping acid, which is polluted with iron and heavy metals
- Spend Flux liquid, consisting of mainly zinc chloride and ammonium chloride in solution
- Filter dust, which now mainly ends up at hazardous landfills
Through applying innovative separation and purification technologies new zinc derivative products will be produced from these waste flows. VCD Recycling contributes to making the waste flows generated by hot-dip galvanizers fully circular.
